MISSION 8: Teotihuacán
8.i - Aztec Complex

Purple S indicates starting point
Red dot = stationary guard
Red dot with black X = patrolling guard
Black dots show approximate path of patrol
Arrows indicate direction of patrol
Straight lines indicate that a patrol is back and forth, rather than in a circuit

  • In order to make up time (important only in one mission, but it sometimes seems to take forever to start), hit the Start button during the opening film and then again when the POV zooms up to Bond to get inside his head.
  • Guards cannot see over railings or short walls, even though you can see them.
  • Guards generally take a moment to "set" - move their firearm from carrying position to firing position. This is the best time to kill them.
  • Always use Auto-Aim unless you have time to manually aim. (As far as this site goes, you should only aim manually when I specifically say to aim at something or if I say to shoot someone or something in a specific place. For instance, if I tell you to shoot someone in the head, you will need to manually aim. Otherwise, use Auto-Aim - that's what it's there for!)
  • Never rely on your Auto-Aim for up and down stairways, ladders, etc.
  • Never engage the enemy in a face-to-face gunfight. Get around a corner and wait for them to come to you. Pick them off as they round the corner and attempt to set.
  • The KF7 is your most handy gun, although it is loud. A tip: when aiming, a quick tap on the trigger will fire one bullet. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the head and generally does not attract the attention of other guards. When using Auto-Aim, a quick tap on the trigger will fire three bullets. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the chest (where Auto-Aim generally aims) and, when used inside rooms or far away from other guards, does not attract their attention the way a huge outburst of gunfire would. It also conserves ammo!
  • Don't switch guns until I tell you to!
  • Reload often - after every bad guy if possible.
  • Unless otherwise specified, always take your time! This walk-through is to get you finished the game, not to achieve the cheats. Speed is not necessary and, in most cases, will get you killed.

This can be fun - but also very deadly. Take your time for the first half, then hustle your buns for the second half.

From the start, crouch and inch out, looking left and staying right (if you hug the left wall, the guard on the right will see you). If that first guard sees you, you might as well start again because you are dead now. Shoot him in the head. The other two guards will come for you. Kill them and grab their guns. Switch to the AR33 and go to the door across the room.

Open this door and stay right. Peek around and pick off that guard. The two flanking guards may come for you. Take them out. The tough one here is the guy way across and up the stairs and behind the metal box. As you stand here trying to inch around, the door will try to close on you. Don't worry about it - if you are in the way, it can't close. Inch around and try to get that guard. He's tough because he can usually see you before you can see him. Remember to take advantage of the AR33 and shoot through the metal box when he ducks down. Once you've dispatched this fella you can go down the hall. Go until you see the guard on the right, then back up before he shoots you. The guard on the left can't see you, but will lob grenades. You'll hear them and may panic, but it's OK - they can't reach you. Peek around the pillar (from the hall) and kill the guard on the right. You will have to leave the hall to get the guard on the left. Show yourself to him on the left of the pillar then peek and kill on the right of the pillar. Beware of grenades - he can get you when you are out here.

(The black blocks on the map are pits, not obstacles. If you fall in, it leads to A. it is said that you can get out of here, but I don't know how. It is not advisable to go this way at all. You will soon see why.)

Go get their guns and go through the next door. Step forward and show yourself to the flanking guards, then back up to #1 and wait for them to come and be killed. Close and open the door to be sure it's open when you run and go forward. Aim towards the guard by the purple X. He is behind the computer, but you can shoot through it. Aim for where his head probably is. This will attract the other guards, so zip back to #1 and wait for them.

The black X marks the computer that you need to activate the door by the other black X (which activates the door from that side of it). There are four guards in this hallway. Switch to your PP7 and shoot them each in the side of the head. They won't see you if you don't get too close. Careful of the first one around the corner - go slow at the corner. When you have killed the last one, switch to the AR33.

Peek around this corner and shoot the computer on the left until it blows up. The two guards here will come after you, so back up and take 'em out as they round the corner. Once you enter the Exhaust Bay, the door will close behind you and the shuttle will fire, so get through there fast. Go to #2. Quickly dispatch the drone guns on either side of this intersection. They both face away from you, but if you are too slow, they will turn and fire on you. Check for guards to your left, then kill the one on the right first. Check again to your left for guards and kill that drone gun. Now side-step out and back up then side-step left to get the Body Armor marked with an X. You go backwards so you can shoot any guards that come for you. Side-step back out and go straight down the hall, always ready for guards. Most guards have lasers. When you get one, switch to it to save ammo and also because it is powerful. (When you get two, make sure you arm them both.)

At #3 you will have to be stealthy and wary. Switch to the AR33 and kill the drone gun across from you, marked with an X. If it sees you, back off until it stops shooting, then go back for it but be more careful and don't let it see you. After shooting this one, a guard or two may come to kill you. Just kill them instead. Now tippy-toe out a little more until you can see the drone gun right outside the grate. Kill it before it sees you. Using your scope, zoom in on the guard in the grate across the room and kill him if he is still there. This may draw another guard. Be ready. Once things have calmed down, zip out quickly to #4. Switch to your laser and pick off as many of the guards at the far end as you can. The laser also shoots through things, so go ahead and shoot them through the metal boxes when they duck down.

Climb the ladder there and go around and kill that guard in front of the computer. Go to the computer and hit the B button to close the exhaust bay (and open the door so you can get through). Go back to #4 and sneak out and kill teh drone guns. Use the AR33 if you want, but switch back to the laser when you are done. Go up to about #5 - there should be one more guard (if there are two more, you should take care of that guy first). Now sneak around the wall and kill that last guy.

Go across to the grate marked D. Kill any guards here. Go down to #6, but be careful. The guard just around the corner has a grenade that he is just dying to throw at you. And he will, as soon as you see him. Watch him and try to kill him just before he throws the grenade. This may take some life out of Jaws, who is standing right around the corner (the big J, to say the least). Back off and stand at the X so you can watch the door way (#6), the top of the stairs and the bottom of the stairs for Jaws. Wherever he comes from, you go the opposite way. DO NOT get into a pissing match with this guy. It takes 12 hits to the head with a laser to take this guy out. Run away at all costs!

The stairs are hard to describe and the map doesn't really illustrate them well, so you might wanna explore them thoroughly before you engage Jaws. Keep Jaws chasing you on the stairs. Outrun him and he will stop. Go back and lay into him heartily with the laser (even better if you already have two lasers). You will have to aim to do this. Run away as soon as he moves and you start missing. When he gets into a weakened state, he will stay still for longer and move away slower, so you will be able to keep hitting him for longer. His death is the end of taking it slow and easy. When he dies, the guards come endlessly and you gotta get done quick.

Collect his guns (just for fun - you won't need them) and, more importantly, the Smart Card he was carrying. Now run run run all the way back to #4. Open the door with the computer marked with an X. Open the glass door on your left. While it is opening, switch to the floppy disk (Guidance Data). Go to the disk drive on the left table and hit the trigger. Now go right and pick up the DAT. If you've done this fast enough, all the doors will still be open and the guards won't be coming through the door at #1 yet. Zip back to #6, shooting the guards as you go. Again, these guards are endless, so don't waste your time trying to kill them. If they die, great. If not, well, you've slowed 'em down. When you get to #6, if the area is relatively clear of baddies, switch to the DAT and hit the trigger in front of the large mainframe. Switch quickly to the laser and round the corner warily. Thin out the guards as they will have piled up here. Then run towards the ladder. Go up and hit the computer (B button), then turn around and hold down the trigger to kill any guards coming around the corner.

The countdown will stall at 10 seconds - that's OK. Once the exhaust bay is open, it will start again. Just stay here and keep shooting and the mission will complete itself.

    MISSION 9.i - Egyptian Temple

You must finish this mission on the Secret Agent level in 9:00 or less.

The secret here is not to do it fast but to do it without getting dead. Follow the instructions above and try not to die.

For reference, my best time is 4:15. No, I don't wanna hear how fast you made it!

Whaddaya get for it? Double Lasers (Mission only). Just for finishing, you get a single laser (Mission only).
