MISSION 6: St. Petersburg
6.i - Statue Park

Purple S indicates starting point
Red dot = stationary guard
Red dot with black X = patrolling guard
Black dots show approximate path of patrol
Arrows indicate direction of patrol
Straight lines indicate that a patrol is back and forth, rather than in a circuit

  • In order to make up time (important only in one mission, but it sometimes seems to take forever to start), hit the Start button during the opening film and then again when the POV zooms up to Bond to get inside his head.
  • Guards cannot see over railings or short walls, even though you can see them.
  • Guards generally take a moment to "set" - move their firearm from carrying position to firing position. This is the best time to kill them.
  • Always use Auto-Aim unless you have time to manually aim. (As far as this site goes, you should only aim manually when I specifically say to aim at something or if I say to shoot someone or something in a specific place. For instance, if I tell you to shoot someone in the head, you will need to manually aim. Otherwise, use Auto-Aim - that's what it's there for!)
  • Never rely on your Auto-Aim for up and down stairways, ladders, etc.
  • Never engage the enemy in a face-to-face gunfight. Get around a corner and wait for them to come to you. Pick them off as they round the corner and attempt to set.
  • The KF7 is your most handy gun, although it is loud. A tip: when aiming, a quick tap on the trigger will fire one bullet. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the head and generally does not attract the attention of other guards. When using Auto-Aim, a quick tap on the trigger will fire three bullets. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the chest (where Auto-Aim generally aims) and, when used inside rooms or far away from other guards, does not attract their attention the way a huge outburst of gunfire would. It also conserves ammo!
  • Don't switch guns until I tell you to!
  • Reload often - after every bad guy if possible.
  • Unless otherwise specified, always take your time! This walk-through is to get you finished the game, not to achieve the cheats. Speed is not necessary and, in most cases, will get you killed.

This is so easy when you know how to do it. When you don't, you get lost and killed. Pay attention!

Follow the purple line. Shoot guards that are in your way, but don't try to kill every one of them - they are endless.

The main thing to remember is to stay to the left and don't go up any hills on the sides. This map does not show all of the obstacles accurately, so it is difficult to draw a proper route. There is Body Armor somewhere, but if you need it, you have already lost, so I'm not going to tell you where it is.

If you use the side-step/forward method of running through this whole mission, you have a good chance of getting the cheat. Follow the line to the orange box car and go inside. Listen to Valentin (he takes a while to say something - don't prompt him by shooting!). Stand at the exit, facing out and when you see that the objective is complete (after he says something about guards seeing him, or something), run across to the wall on the opposite side. Turn the corner and make your way through that maze.

When you see the giant statue of Lenin, put your gun away. Switch to Unarmed. Circle the statue, and wait in front for Janus. He will come walking out of the shadows with a bunch of tough commandos in black (hard to kill and they 've got shotguns). He will mock you for a while, then, when the objective is declared complete, chase him. He will lead you out of the maze. He is also slower than you, so you might wanna go your own way. Just follow the purple line back (you don't have to stop in at the orange box car). His guards will shoot at you, but you've got lots of life - just keep running and you will outrun them.

When you get back to where you started, run up to the helicopter - it will tell you about the proximity fuse and that there is only 15 seconds left until it blows up. Run back down the hill, approximately to the X. Wait for the helicopter to blow up. An orange box should appear right in front of you. If it doesn't, go looking for it. It should be in that general area. (If you have to look for it, switch to your PP7 as you may encounter guards.)

Once you get the orange box, run back to where the helicopter was and, beyond that there are gates. Open the gates and go through. If you were armed, unarm yourself before getting here. Do not try to save Natalya - just give up. Do not shoot or otherwise attack these guards. Exit through the gate and you are done.

If you are fast enough, after getting the orange box, you will pass Natalya running down the hill as you are running up it and then when you get to the gates, she will already be there, under guard!!! And you thought you were fast....

    MISSION 6.ii - Military Archives

You must finish this mission on the Secret Agent level in 3:15 or less.

Same as above, but use the fast-running technique of side-step/forward to make you go faster. If the orange box doesn't show up right in front of you and you have to go looking for it, quit. You won't find it in time.

For reference, my best time is 3:02. No, I don't wanna hear how fast you made it!

Whaddaya get for it? Fast Animation (Mission only).
