MISSION 1: Arkangelsk
1.i - Dam

Purple S indicates starting point
Red dot = stationary guard
Red dot with black X = patrolling guard
Black dots show approximate path of patrol
Arrows indicate direction of patrol
Straight lines indicate that a patrol is back and forth, rather than in a circuit

  • In order to make up time (important only in one mission, but it sometimes seems to take forever to start), hit the Start button during the opening film and then again when the POV zooms up to Bond to get inside his head.
  • Guards cannot see over railings or short walls, even though you can see them.
  • Guards generally take a moment to "set" - move their firearm from carrying position to firing position. This is the best time to kill them.
  • Always use Auto-Aim unless you have time to manually aim. (As far as this site goes, you should only aim manually when I specifically say to aim at something or if I say to shoot someone or something in a specific place. For instance, if I tell you to shoot someone in the head, you will need to manually aim. Otherwise, use Auto-Aim - that's what it's there for!)
  • Never rely on your Auto-Aim for up and down stairways, ladders, etc.
  • Never engage the enemy in a face-to-face gunfight. Get around a corner and wait for them to come to you. Pick them off as they round the corner and attempt to set.
  • The KF7 is your most handy gun, although it is loud. A tip: when aiming, a quick tap on the trigger will fire one bullet. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the head and generally does not attract the attention of other guards. When using Auto-Aim, a quick tap on the trigger will fire three bullets. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the chest (where Auto-Aim generally aims) and, when used inside rooms or far away from other guards, does not attract their attention the way a huge outburst of gunfire would. It also conserves ammo!
  • Don't switch guns until I tell you to!
  • Reload often - after every bad guy if possible.
  • Unless otherwise specified, always take your time! This walk-through is to get you finished the game, not to achieve the cheats. Speed is not necessary and, in most cases, will get you killed.

From the start, inch your way towards the mountain and out. When you see the guard's head, shoot it. Get his gun (KF7). Cross the bridge and stand on this side of the short wall (#1), directly opposite the guard standing against the mountain. Shoot him in the head. Turn slightly to your left and wait for the patrolling guard to come around the corner. Shoot him in the head. Pick up his gun and go up the tower (inside or outside, it doesn't matter). Get the sniper rifle from inside the top of the tower, then go outside the glass and get snug against the railing so that you can see down the tunnel. Switch to the sniper rifle and, while aiming, zoom in as far as you can (hold down the top C button). Pick off one of the guards in the tunnel in the head. The other will come running towards you. Using the bottom C button, zoom out and anticipate his path, then shoot his head when he runs through there. If you miss, you will have to deal with him when he comes up the stairs. Switch to your KF7 and give him three when he comes up the stairs.

Switch to the sniper rifle and head down the tunnel to #2 - don't round the corner. Inch your way around the corner using a right side-step and forward joystick. (It can be a little complicated, but a little practice will get it done.) Using the aim, you should be able to barely see the guard standing behind the pile of boxes (black rectangle) at the far end. It doesn't look it on the map, but you've got a clear shot of his head (zoom in). Now inch out a little further until you catch sight of the first guard in that little pink circle (it's bunker-sorta thing) - hit him in the head and repeat this process with the next guy in that bunker. While doing this, beware of the guard on patrol - if he sees you he will start firing. He probably won't hit you because of the great distance and you should be able to pick him off with the sniper rifle. If not, or if you freak out, back up and wait for him to round the corner, then give him three from the KF7.

Pick up all the guns and head down the tunnel to #3 and slowly inch around behind (to your left) the big box and get that guard in the head using the KF7. Pick up everyone's gun, including the ones dropped inside the bunker.

Zip to the control panel and open the gate to let the truck through. Run around behind the truck as the gate opens and zip inside before the truck. Hit the next panel and scurry to your left before the truck gets there and wait for the gate to open. This takes practice, but try to keep the truck between you and the guard on patrol and go after the other guy who is running towards #4. Kill him with the Silenced PP7. Now turn around and go after the patrol. If he has seen you, he'll be gunning for you. Otherwise, you can stalk him. Use your Silenced PP7 on him and take his gun.

Go to #4 and shoot 5 bullets into the alarm from your Silenced PP7. Go to the window to the left of the alarm and peek in sideways. You will be able to line up the back of a guard's head, but he will take two shots to bring him down. Go to the window on the right and shoot that guard in the head only once. Go inside and collect their guns, then go around to #5 and install the modem. If you have quick aim and a fast trigger finger and don't mind waiting, seek the grate that is in this area and aim down into it. Wait for the patrolling guard and shoot him in the head. Go out to the gate and shoot the lock (one shot) and continue.

At #6, you should pause and line up the guard on top of the tower with the sniper rifle. All three of the tower guards patrol, but I did not mark their route because it is fairly straightforward (and I didn't feel like it). Once he's dead, you can concern yourself with the alarm housed in the lower part of the tower. It's on the wall to your left as you enter the door, but you don't have to - just shoot it 5 times through the window. Go up and get the guard's gun. If you are particularly good at sniper rifle (or just wanna practice), stay on top of this tower and shoot the other two guards in the head. It's difficult to do it this way, but not impossible. You may want to rest a while - the reason your aim is swaying wildly is because you are breathing heavily - take a rest and in a while, Bond will breathe normal again and the aim will sway less. While you are taking a break, take a look across the water. Way over, there is another guard tower. Don't worry, you don't have to access that one!

OK, continuing on. If you haven't already done so, take out each of the guards and the alarms inside their towers. Don't forget to get their guns. Don't be fooled by the exit sign on the map - you're not done yet! Go down either of the ladders marked B or C.

Go into the base of the middle tower and open the gate right in front of you (#7). Inch your way forward until you see one of the barrels. Shoot that with your Silenced PP7 until it explodes (5 shots, I think) - move back quick or you'll get burned. Now that takes care of that guard. I'm not going to go into detail here - it's pretty straightforward. Use your sniper rifle to get the guards that are straight ahead or at an angle, and use your Silenced PP7 to get the guys standing around the corner to your right. I use the element of surprise on them - just stepping into the open and shooting them - but you can try and get 'em by peeking around the corner.

Open the door at the end of the corridor. If you killed the patrol from the grate, no worries. Otherwise, be cautious of him coming around the corner or even being there when you open the door. If he is, use the Silenced PP7 on him. Tiptoe up to the corner and peek around until you see a guard. he will probably see you, too. Shoot him (in the head, if possible). Quickly switch to the KF7 and be ready when the others round the corner. Go to the computer and hit the B button to activate. There may still be a guard behind the computers and you can kill him if you want. But really, all you have to do now is get back to the top and leap over the edge. There should be no guards left on this mission.

    MISSION 1.ii - Facility

You must finish this mission on the Secret Agent level in 2:40 or less.

    How I did it:

Run (side-step/forward) really fast all the way to the security gates. Go through them, fighting off whatever guards pester you (don't try to kill them). Run to #4 and kill the alarm. Don't worry about the guard coming to pull the alarm - that is his only mission and he will not try to shoot you until he gets to the alarm and realizes it is dead.

Keep going (never mind the modem - it's not part of this level) to #6. Try to get past the guard tower without being seen. Don't take your time here, just go and hope the guard is facing the other way. Open the door and shoot the alarm. Run to the next tower and repeat. Run to the next tower and shoot that alarm through the window. Run to the exit and jump off.

For reference, my best time is 2:18. No, I don't wanna hear how fast you made it!

Whaddaya get for it? Paintball Mode (Mission or Multiplayer).
