MISSION 3: Kirghizstan
3.i - Launch Silo #4

KEY:

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

  • In order to make up time (important only in one mission, but it sometimes seems to take forever to start), hit the Start button during the opening film and then again when the POV zooms up to Bond to get inside his head.
  • Guards cannot see over railings or short walls, even though you can see them.
  • Guards generally take a moment to "set" - move their firearm from carrying position to firing position. This is the best time to kill them.
  • Always use Auto-Aim unless you have time to manually aim. (As far as this site goes, you should only aim manually when I specifically say to aim at something or if I say to shoot someone or something in a specific place. For instance, if I tell you to shoot someone in the head, you will need to manually aim. Otherwise, use Auto-Aim - that's what it's there for!)
  • Never rely on your Auto-Aim for up and down stairways, ladders, etc.
  • Never engage the enemy in a face-to-face gunfight. Get around a corner and wait for them to come to you. Pick them off as they round the corner and attempt to set.
  • The KF7 is your most handy gun, although it is loud. A tip: when aiming, a quick tap on the trigger will fire one bullet. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the head and generally does not attract the attention of other guards. When using Auto-Aim, a quick tap on the trigger will fire three bullets. This is usually sufficient to dispatch a guard shot in the chest (where Auto-Aim generally aims) and, when used inside rooms or far away from other guards, does not attract their attention the way a huge outburst of gunfire would. It also conserves ammo!
  • Don't switch guns until I tell you to!
  • Reload often - after every bad guy if possible.
  • Unless otherwise specified, always take your time! This walk-through is to get you finished the game, not to achieve the cheats. Speed is not necessary and, in most cases, will get you killed.

    I absolutely hate this one! Mainly it's because it's timed, so ya gotta be quick, but you also have to be careful to not get killed! Plus, there's a lot of stairs that you have to shoot up which, as I've mentioned, sucks. But, we gotta get through it, so let's go.

    Get an extra two or three seconds by hitting the Start button when the POV is zooming down the silo and then go. The countdown shouldn't start until you get to the door. The main thing about this mission is peeking around corners and shooting the guards before they see you, so I'm not going to get too detailed here. Switch between the Silenced PP7 and the KF7 as you see fit - it doesn't really matter for the most part.

    When you go in the first room, at #1 there is a pillar that the guard is behind. Swing around it and shoot him up close. If you are fast enough, you'll hit him in the head. Pick up the two circuit boards at the X. The other X is a scientist with a keycard. Plant a Plastique on the wall (I usually toss it at the skull & crossbones, but I don't think it matters where you put it).

    Carry on, killing and stuff. When you get to the A and have killed that patrol, look up behind you to where I've marked an X. Kill that guard or he'll cause problems.

    At #2 there are four barrels. Shoot one until it blows up - it will blow up the other three and hopefully kill someone. Wait for the smoke to dissipate and listen for the "tink tink" of a grenade landing at your feet. If you hear it, move back. Otherwise, sneak around the corner and kill. Pick up the circuit board from the table and get the keycard from the scientist (both marked with X's). Don't forget to plant a bomb.

    Continue with much shooting and killing. When you enter the next room, go right and get the DAT from that scientist. Get the keycard from the other scientist, also marked with an X. Don't forget to plant the bomb.

    Again with the shooting and killing. If you suck as bad as I do, run back to #3 and get the Body Armor, then continue on. At the next room, you just have to take a picture of the satellite. Don't worry about framing - it's not gonna make the cover of Satellite Monthly. Don't forget to plant a bomb.

    At the door marked with a C, you are in trouble, especially if you are low on life. The "guard" circled with an O is Ouromov. He will stand his ground and shoot his gun at you. The other guards will charge and you can take them out as they round the corner onto the stairway platform, where you should be hiding. But when all the guards are dead, you still have to deal with Ouromov, and he shoots well. He can also shoot around corners, so there's no sneaking up on him - he'll shoot you before you can even see him. Zip out in front of the door and shoot him as much as you can (KF7 is good for this - plus your PP7 ammo is probably gone by now). Eventually he will run away. The temptation is to give chase. Careful - there are still guards around the corners. Take them out as quickly as possible, then follow him.

    The only reason I have marked #4 is because, for some reason, the map shows a left turn when you go through that door. In fact, it's a right turn, but I didn't notice their booboo until I had already compiled this huge map, so I couldn't fix it. The rest of it is exactly the same, though.

    Look at your time and your life and decide if you have time to kill all the guards or if you should make a dead run to the exit, at #5.

    MISSION 4.i - Frigate

    ACHIEVE THE CHEAT TIME

    You must finish this mission on the Agent level in 3:00 or less.

    In Agent level you only have to photograph the satellite and not kill too many scientists. Just go through here as fast as possible and don't stop for any guards. Get the Body Armors (in the second room and the last room) and go go go!!!

    For reference, my best time is 2:29. No, I don't wanna hear how fast you made it!
